Dr. Nijm is a board-certified ophthalmologist and corneal surgeon at Warrenville Eyecare and LASIK and an assistant clinical professor of ophthalmology at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago. She also serves as the CEO of Women in Ophthalmology, mentors’ physicians and advises leading medical device and pharmaceutical companies on new innovations in ophthalmology. Dr. Nijm’ s expertise will be a great addition to TearLab’s Medical Advisory Board.
TearLab is excited to announce that Dr. Mitchell Jackson has joined our Medical Advisory Board. Dr. Jackson is the Founder and CEO of Jacksoneye, his private practice of 29 years located in Lake Villa, Illinois. He graduated from Pomona College, completed his medical training at FUHS/The Chicago Medical School, and completed his Ophthalmology residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Dr. Jackson is also a board member and VP of the American College of Eye Surgeons (ACES), founding member of the American College of Ophthalmic Surgeons (AECOS), and a founding member and past 2018 President of the Cataract External Disease and Refractive Surgery Society (CEDARS/ASPENS). Dr. Jackson’s expertise will be a great addition to TearLab’s Medical Advisory Board.
TearLab is excited to announce that Dr. Jai Parekh has joined our Medical Advisory Board. Dr. Parekh, MD, MBA, FAAO, is a dual-trained internist and board-certified anterior segment surgeon with extensive experience in clinical and academic practice, pharmaceutical and medical device technology, medical affairs and R&D, clinical and business development, hospital administration, healthcare IT and digital medicine, private equity and investing, philanthropy and entrepreneurship. Dr. Parekh recently served as Chief Medical Officer of Global Eye Care at Allergan from 2015 to 2020 where he provided ambassadorship, leadership and directed medical affairs, working with key stakeholders on several launches. He has held consulting and strategic roles for numerous eye care companies on business development, marketing, and strategic growth. Dr. Parekh holds an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, an MD from Boston University School of Medicine, and a BA from Boston University’s Combined Early Acceptance Medical School Program. Dr. Parekh’s expertise will be a great addition to TearLab’s Medical Advisory Board.
TearLab is excited to announce that Dr. Darrell White has joined our Medical Advisory Board. Dr. White, M.D. is the founder of SkyVision Centers, one of the oldest Dry Eye Centers of Excellence in the U.S., located in Westlake, Ohio. He has been one of the preeminent ophthalmic surgeons in the area since 1991. He has held numerous leadership positions including President of the Cleveland Ophthalmological Society, and Medical Director of the first excimer laser center in Northeast Ohio. Dr. White continues to be a leader among ophthalmic surgeons in the area, bringing new technologies, advanced concepts and new products to Northeast Ohio. Dr. White’s expertise will be a great addition to TearLab’s Medical Advisory Board.
TearLab is excited to announce that Dr. Bucci has joined our Medical Advisory Board. Dr. Bucci began his education by attending Rollins College and graduated with a BA in economics in 1974. In 1978 Dr. Bucci received his MBA with a concentration in health care management from Cornell University. Dr. Bucci is the founder and medical director of Bucci Laser Vision Institute in Wilkes-Barre, PA. After completing his ophthalmology residency at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York, he completed a cornea, refractive, and anterior segment fellowship with Drs. Lindstrom and Holland at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Bucci has published over 35 peer-reviewed articles and has given over 250 abstract supported presentations at major ophthalmic meetings worldwide. He has implanted over 12,000 multifocal IOLs and has published extensively in the areas of antibiotics, NSAIDs, dry eye medications, and presbyopia correcting IOLs. Dr. Bucci has been an industry wide consultant, thought leader, and advisory board member for multiple ophthalmic corporations including AcuFocus, Allergan, Bausch & Lomb, Glaukos, Johnson and Johnson, LENSAR, Ocular Therapeutix, Novartis, Physician Recommended Nutriceuticals, Omeros, Santen, Refocus Group, Tear Lab, and others. Dr. Bucci’s expertise will be a great addition to TearLab’s Medical Advisory Board.
TearLab is thrilled to announce that Dr. Damon Dierker has been appointed Chief Medical Advisor for Optometry. Dr. Dierker is Director of Optometric Services at Eye Surgeons of Indiana and an adjunct faculty member at the Indiana University School of Optometry. He practices consultative optometry with special interests in ocular surface disease and retinal disorders. He has developed a dedicated dry eye clinic within his practice and helps colleagues across the country in this area as the creator of Dry Eye Boot Camp and co-founder of Eyes on Dry Eye. Additionally, he serves as Immediate Past President of the Indiana Optometric Association. Dr. Dierker will be a great addition to TearLab with extensive knowledge and experience in the Eye Care industry.
TearLab is excited to announce that Dr. David Kading has joined our Medical Advisory Board. Dr. Kading has been recognized as one of the top 50 optometry influencers of all time, as one of the top 250 innovators, and listed as one of the top 10 best practices in eyecare. He has three practices in the Seattle focuses on Dry Eye, Specialty Lenses and Myopia Management. He Co-Owns Optometric Insights which is changing the way students and doctors perceive practice. He performs research as part of the post-graduate Residency program that he hosts in Seattle. He lectures internationally and has written thousands of papers and articles. Dr. Kading’s teaching style brings about innovation and simplified perspectives to longstanding conditions. Dr. Kading’s expertise will be a great addition to TearLab’s Medical Advisory Board.
TearLab is excited to announce that Dr. Douglas Devries has joined our Medical Advisory Board. Dr. Devries co-founded and developed Eye Care Associates of Nevada, which is a state-wide co-management network of referring optometrists and primary care physicians. He is also the clinic Director and Managing Partner for the practice; a medical/surgical ophthalmology practice located in Reno and providing services in Reno and Elko, Nevada. Additionally, he is responsible for the optometric residency program starting in 1992. He is also a managing partner for Ophthalmic Resources LCC, a national diagnostic, sales and Distribution Company serving the eye care profession in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular surface disease. He received his bachelors of Science Business from the University of Nevada, and got his Doctor of Optometry at Pacific University in Oregon. Dr. Devries’s expertise will be a great addition to TearLab’s Medical Advisory Board.

Dr. Rose is A passionate optometrist with various clinical backgrounds, including hospital and corporate, who stepped into private practice ownership. Leading a technologically innovative dry eye clinic, driven by extensive patient education to enforce compliance and ensure disease treatment. An advocate for informing the public on whole ocular health and function. Always on the path of improvement through a continuous thirst for knowledge. She currently owns two practices Clear Eyes + Aesthetics and Eyecare on the Square both located in Cincinnati Ohio. She received her Doctor of Optometry from Illinois college of Optometry and Ocular Disease Residency from Cincinnati VAMC Eye Clinic. Dr. Rose expertise will be a great addition to TearLab’s Medical Advisory Board.
